On that Midnight Train...

(Eric)

The ol' blog has been neglected lately, and a big reason is because we've been pretty busy with some exciting (for us, at least) new developments.

Soon we'll be enjoying a more peachy life, enjoying Chick-fil-A with Ted Turner, drinking Coca-Cola with Ed and Dean Roland (at least Britt will get that), and falling under the spell of SEC football.

Yes, I've got a work opportunity in Atlanta, and we'll be moving there within the next couple months. Although I've already added "y'all" to my dictionary while living here in North Texas, North Georgia will surely give our little family a whole new level of Southern-ness.

Our time here has been great, and we will certainly miss family and at least four of our friends, but we're excited for what looks to be a fun new adventure for us.

That's so awesome for you guys - Atlanta is a pretty awesome city. I'm sure that you'll have tons of fun, and congratulations on the new work opportunity!

I still have mixed feelings about it, but you're right, Ed Roland does peak my interest. But you know we have Coke and Chick-fil-A's in Utah now...

Ooh Ooh! I get it too! I know who Ed Roland is. Is the other guy in the band too?

Yes, he's his brother, and they're both in the band.

And yes, you have Chick-fil-A in Utah-- like three of them. Next time, bring up Cafe Rio or St. George.

Diane- We'll be up in your part of town: my office is in Alpharetta. Weren't you guys in the Marietta / Roswell area? Although we'll get an apartment first, we're thinking we'll buy a home in Alpharetta or Cumming.

Hey! I know of at least 5 Chick's! (That's what we call them around here because they're so second nature.)
Have you seen Ed Roland lately? I saw a video of him doing a bit with a side project band on Park City TV (he was there for Sundance), and he looked totally old! Like, mid to late 50's! How old is he, actually? That might be about right. He still sounded good, though, and I actually kinda liked the song.

Hey Eric,

My parents actually live right around there - they live in Johnscreek (basically right in between Alpharetta and Roswell) and are in the Peachtree Corners Ward. Let me know if you want any information.

Cool. Who knows? We may end up in their ward. We'll let you know how things are looking once we've gotten there.
