Remember a couple weeks back, when the rest of the country was whining about a few 90+ or 100+ days? Well, we went strong for over a month. The record for consecutive 100-degree days in Dallas is 42, which was set in 1980. Though this summer has continually been a beat-down, peaking when temperatures neared 110 last week and we closed in on the record, I was probably in the majority in my hope that we'd break the record, just to say that we did it. (Could I put that on my resume?)
But after getting so close, we only hit the high 90s on day 41. Sure, it was nice to have a relatively cool day, but what does the next week look like? 102, 103, 103, 103, 103, 102, 101.

My poor in-laws' A/C has been on the fritz, so they've been over to our house a lot over the past few days. On the other hand, we just got our large electric bill. I don't know which is worse: not having A/C in this weather, or having to pay for it.
OK, I know I sound old talking about the weather like this, so I'll be done.

At least that cast looks less bulky now. That probably is like 2 degrees cooler.
I sleep just like that.
Mom- In a diaper? I knew you were getting old, but woah.
